Kelebek Cave Hotel was built in 1993. Originally the private home of the hotel’s owner, Ali Yavuz, the property gradually evolved into a small guesthouse with four rooms. Over the years, Mr. Ali Yavuz expanded the guesthouse by incorporating the surrounding houses into the property. He personally carried out much of the restoration work, and today Kelebek welcomes guests across 36 unique rooms. Some of the rooms are particularly special, having been carved directly into the caves. A few of these rooms were carved into the rock in the 8th century by early Christians who fled Roman persecution. Staying in these rooms offers a truly unique opportunity to connect with Cappadocia’s thousands of years of history. Kelebek offers breathtaking views stretching across the valleys and Göreme. Located in the heart of Göreme National Park, the hotel allows guests to watch hot air balloons floating across the sky from many of its rooms and terraces.
